No — swimming is completely optional. You can enjoy the waterfall scenery without entering the water. We do recommend bringing a swimsuit and towel if you want to take a dip in the natural pools.
Yes — the Embera use jagua, a natural fruit-based dye that is completely safe for skin. The designs are temporary and fade naturally over 1 to 2 weeks. It is not a permanent tattoo.
